NATURE. NURTURE. NOURISH.
The words “chemical” and “natural” are used as if they are vastly different. But in reality, they are usually misinterpreted.
There are many brands out there that promote products labeled as natural but if you think about it, are they any different from the chemical ones?
Let’s dig deeper and chalk out the differences between chemical, natural, and ayurvedic skincare products.
If we talk about the composition, chemical-based products are made of synthetic ingredients. These ingredients sure are effective if you’re looking for a temporary fix for your skin but constant use of these chemicals has a downside.
One can say that chemical skincare products do more bad than good. How?
The chemicals used in the products are extremely harsh and increase the chances of skin allergies, hypersensitivity, inflammation, and rashes.
To add more, it breaks down the natural elastin of our body, accelerates the whole aging process and tends to sag your skin.
Some of these chemical products don’t seep deep into your skin and leave a residue which results in breakouts. Synthetic-infused products are highly responsible for triggering acne.
Mineral oil, which forms one of the most common ingredients in chemical-based skincare products is responsible for attracting free radicals that again make your skin break out, cause aging and do harm to the skin to the point where it becomes irreversible.
The skincare industry uses the word “natural” more lightly than it should! Anything that has a mix-and-match of plant-based ingredients is portrayed as natural but are they really?
Even though there are a lot of products out there that claim that they are a natural skincare range, you need to keep in mind that not all-natural products are created equal. The formulations used vary from brand to brand.

Sure, these products have non-artificial ingredients such as oils, plants, fruit extracts and fruit acids that are meant to treat your skin but if you investigate the products deeper, you will realize that even though these products are called “natural”, they contain silicon and preservatives.
When we talk about silicon, it might feel a lot more luxurious on your skin but if we look at the bigger picture, it does not add any real value to the product.
Secondly, preservatives are known to increase their shelf life. But, it is as bad as having a smoothie with white sugar in it.

If we talk about Ayurveda, one can say it’s one step further! If natural products are known to use a blend of natural ingredients to provide you with skincare, Ayurveda is known how to exactly use those natural ingredients and in what exact proportion and manner.
Or as we’d like to explain, to make a great dish, you need the right ingredients, but you also need the right recipe. That’s the exact difference between natural and Ayurveda.
Ayurveda is a science that dates back to 5000 years ago. Back then, there were no synthetic preservatives to store a product. So people had to resort to natural ones they found deep in the indigenous forests!
So one can say, Ayurvedic products are really natural and clean as compared to their counterparts.
Ingestible ingredients are the cornerstone of Ayurvedic beauty. This 5000-year-old mystic science does not recommend putting anything on your skin that you can’t eat and that is why the ingredient booklet of an Ayurvedic product may seem like a recipe from your cookbook or your garden flora. For example, the ingredients used in Ayurvedic origin’s facial oils may make you feel the same!
These ingredients are known to nourish and treat your skin in a natural way. They assist your body in slowing down the aging process which creates younger, vibrant-looking skin.
What makes Ayurveda unique, is its approach towards physical ailments, the foundation comprising of in-depth understanding of the human body and focusing more on addressing the cause rather than subsiding the effect.
